To quote Margaret Heffernan, "for good ideas and true innovation, you need human interaction, conflict, argument and debate."

Chess club will develop your critical thinking, logic and imagination. You will learn to work as part of a team in team matches and also develop your ability to build relationships and work closely with others. You will learn about patience and when to take risks while using your logical skills to plan a way to defeat your opponent. You will learn chess tactics and strategy. You will also have the opportunity to compete in house competitions and you will be able to get a chess rating. No previous chess experience is required so the club is available from beginners to advanced level.

A school choir provides students with a creative outlet for their musical interests, offers opportunities for personal and musical growth, and contributes to the cultural and artistic vibrancy of the school community. It's a rewarding and enjoyable extracurricular activity for those who have a passion for singing and music.

Students will develop their acting and singing skills as well as dancing techniques. Confidence will also be developed and collaborative life skills honed. The production hopes to allow students to develop their creativity through performance, and join an ensemble that will perform to the wider Kings' community. The Lead actors will take on challenging roles, demonstrating resilience and ambition, as well as a dedication and love of musical theatre. They will also be inspiring role models for our young Chorus members, supporting their growing talents and ambitions to be the 'Lead Actors' of future Kings' Productions.

MUN is an exciting opportunity for you to get involved with a weekend Model UN conference. You will have the opportunity to develop your research, teamwork, public speaking, and debate skills as you prepare for and take part in the conference. You will be allocated to a committee, where they will be given a country and an issue, where they will have to advocate for their allocated country's point of view. Throughout the debate, the committees will design a sensible and workable resolution to ongoing real-world issues. MUN is a great opportunity for students to get involved with current affairs on a much deeper level.

F1 in Schools is an exciting opportunity for those of you who are passionate about design and/or engineering. You will work as part of a team to design and manufacture a model F1 car and have the opportunity to develop your communication, problem solving, presentation and CAD skills. You will also be able to enhance and refine your creativity and design skills by adhering to industry level standards and expectations and liaising and networking with industry and external partners. Teams will work together to prepare a project design proposal and following this, participate in a regional competition with qualifiers attending a national competition at the end of the year.

In order to be a successful leader, you need to understand how to compel a variety of people. Talk with Kings’ is an opportunity that empowers you on how to use your own voice to engage a diverse audience. This established opportunity invites students of any ability to learn how to plan, draft, articulate, and perform speeches.

You will explore a variety of previous students' performances and learn how to embed rhetorical devices, adapt your tone, and choreograph body language in their public speaking. We encourage our students to be brave and challenge themselves on the topics they choose to deliver their speech on; one that they may be passionate about or one that has sparked a new interest that they wish to enlighten or even challenge an audience on.

Students will deliver their final speech to a live audience: the KSAB whole school community.

The Tycoon opportunity is for budding entrepreneurs who have the passion, creativity, and resilience to run their own business. In this opportunity, you will have the unique experience to work with a team to create an innovative product or service. This will involve completing a business plan, pitching your idea to school investors and selling around the school premises. This opportunity will allow you to develop and improve your entrepreneurial skills and become ready for the challenges that the modern and dynamic business world poses. In addition, you will be competing against your classmates and other schools in the UAE for a chance to win the overall Tycoon title.

Welcome to Fine Motor Club. Do you enjoying using your hands to create, draw, mould or shape? We use playdough, pegboards and even arts and crafts to help build our fine motor strength and skills. Each week we will explore a new and often challenging way to use our hands and develop our dexterity and co-ordination.

Photography is much more than just having a camera and taking pictures. In this club, you will have the opportunity to understand what makes a good photograph considering several elements such as composition (how objects are arranged) and lighting to bring your image alive. Using your iPads each week, you will learn a series of skills and take part in various challenges. In addition, you will also use key apps on your iPad to edit and enhance the photographic images that you take. If you have an interest in photography and are particularly creative, then this is the club for you!
