Extracurricular Opportunities

At Kings’ School Al Barsha, we offer an extensive enrichment programme of extracurricular opportunities for children from FS1 through to Year 13. These take place before, during, and after school on a weekly basis and provide opportunities for students to discover new talents and abilities, to nurture existing passions, and to develop their social skills. Activities change termly in line with student interests and sporting seasons, and cover everything from academics and the arts to sports and cultural opportunities.

Parents can check our online ECA platform SOCS to confirm which opportunities their child/ren have been booked onto. Activities will commence week beginning Monday 18 September.

Duke of Edinburgh International Award

The International Duke of Edinburgh Award is a globally recognised achievement. For those above the age of 14, it is an opportunity to develop key skills such as teamwork, respect, resilience and courage. Those who take part in Duke of Edinburgh will be pushed beyond their comfort zone as they complete a stint of volunteer work, develop a new skill and take part in a self-guided expedition in the wild. The award ranges between Bronze (14+), Silver (15+), Gold (16+), with the commitment to self-improvement increasing at each stage. Young adults who have completed the award say that they are more resilient, more strong-minded and more confident as a result - they even say their mental health and wellbeing were boosted.
