Economics Society

Maths and Economics are at the forefront of today’s day and age. Ranging from making everyday decisions, such as what brand of candy to buy, to large-scale government decisions, such as which sector to invest in. Understanding how economics and maths are applied in the real world will tremendously develop your perspective and viewpoints in the long term.

In the Maths and Economics Society, you will have the opportunity to go beyond the curriculum, engage with like-minded individuals, and explore these subjects in-depth, allowing you to gain an insight into what they might entail in further education. Examples of topics we've covered include the economics behind digital currencies and the stock market, as well as matrix algebra for analyzing big data. Moreover, you will experience a mixture of seminar-style lessons as well as debates and quizzes, where we cover interesting and niche concepts within these fields.
