The art of medicine is ever-evolving, yet at its core remains a deeply rooted passion for science and its fascinating ability to heal.

The Kings’ Medical Society aims to cultivate curiosity, discussion, and excitement in students who might be interested in medicine whilst also supporting those who are serious about considering a career in the field, providing them with valuable knowledge and skills to get there.

You will have the opportunity to explore the many exciting facets of medicine, everything from anatomical systems, all the way to the different pathways into a medical career. Whether it be diving deeper into discussions and debates around medical discoveries and the latest developments in the field, or bolstering your interests in Chemistry and Biology, there will definitely be something for you in our medical society.

The Kings’ Medical Society aims to cultivate curiosity, discussion, and excitement in students who might be interested in medicine whilst also supporting those students who are serious about considering a career in medicine anywhere in the world, providing them with valuable knowledge and skills to get there. We recently engaged in a research task based around the question: 'Why do we amputate?', building the curiosity of students to then go and research further into what causes amputation. Students particularly enjoy discussing relevant medical and scientific news such as the recent pig heart transplant, a form of xenotransplantation. As well as this, the medical society aims to encourage excitement through interactive activities related to our topic of the week.

Medical Society allows us to learn about medical concepts outside of what we do in lessons, and link our learning. We have looked at lots of interesting topics so far such as the heart and amputations, and I am really enjoying it!
