Duke of Edinburgh Awards

The International Duke of Edinburgh Award is a globally recognised achievement. For those above the age of 14, it is an opportunity to develop key skills such as teamwork, respect, resilience and courage. Those who take part in Duke of Edinburgh will be pushed beyond their comfort zone as they complete a stint of volunteer work, develop a new skill and take part in a self-guided expedition in the wild. The award ranges between Bronze (14+), Silver (15+), Gold (16+), with the commitment to self-improvement increasing at each stage. Young adults who have completed the award say that they are more resilient, more strong-minded and more confident as a result - they even say their mental health and wellbeing were boosted.
